Athletes Tracey and Kristina represented CFCM well today in this all-female competition at Asylum CrossFit White Marsh. Athletic Asylum hosted the second annual Bombshell Battle — a one day competition for teams of two female competitors in two divisions, scaled and Rx. 160 athletes battled through 3 WODs in attempt to prove which team has the “Baddest Bombshells”!
Their first workout was 21-15-9-9-15-21 of deadlifts and wall balls combined with a 75 calorie row. They did great and had judges complimented them on their deadlift form. We came out of that workout in 6th place. WOD 2 was 1 rep max back squats. Both ladies did great and Kristina hit a PR at 195 pounds but we had some disappointment after the great math/plate tragedy of 2016 and left some points on the board. Thus, our ladies needed to show up and show out on WOD 3, which was 30 calories on the assault bike straight into sled pushes and pulls with increasing weight. Lucky for us, Coach Mike has been training the gym hard on sled push and assault bike. They killed the workout with Kristina leading them to a huge second place finish.
We came into the final workout in third place, with double points on the line. Workout was 50 front squats, 25 knees to elbow and 1 rope climb- single elimination style with a dash to the rope. Whichever team did not make it to the rope was out! Tracey powered through, repping out knees to elbow at a blistering pace, giving our women just enough to finish 2nd overall for the day!
They put it all out there today and worked hard through some brutal workouts. They went hard and earned a spot on the podium.
Kristina and Tracey, your coaches and your gym are so proud of you – strong women rock.
