CrossFit Critical Mass is excited to announce the January 2017 Athlete of the Month (AOM). She's a great student and a consistent athlete. So consistent, when she's not in the gym (3 to 4 times a week) you can find her working out 2 times a week in her parents' basement. If you think that's dedication, how about doing all this as a senior in high school.
Emily Jones really is well deserving of this acknowledgement and recognition. Her passion is softball, but she's known in our box as one heck of an athlete and motivator to others. She's an evening class staple. Those that work out with her, truly appreciate her kindness in supporting other athletes until the very last rep, but are also amazed with her maturity well beyond her years. Emily's journey to fitness started well before her first day in the gym. She started by losing 65 lbs. and continues with major fitness accomplishments. She recently had a PR in her deadlift by 25lbs and has a killer bench press. Also in a recent conversation, she shared that she loves burpees. We plan to get her counseling for that statement, since 99% of the world hates burpees! Emily's has a positive attitude and true strength even when she is faced with challenging movements.
Please join the coaches of CrossFit Critical Mass in congratulating Emily on this accomplishment. Well deserved.
