I grew up playing soccer (and occasionally tennis) and added backpacking and mountain biking in college.  After my second child in 2004, I stopped being athletically active and became a stay at home mom. With two kids under the age of 2, I had neither the energy nor the motivation to get out and do anything more than the grocery shopping.

Nine years later I found myself 35 pounds heavier and completely uncomfortable in my own skin. I tried several activities (Couch to 5K, P90X, yoga) but nothing held my interest until I took my first CrossFit class. I was completely shocked at how far my fitness had fallen, but the community at CrossFit Critical Mass rekindled my old competitive fire. I found myself going back for class after class and found the old me. That is how I found my goal of being a CrossFit trainer and a kids coach! I love this stuff and I want to help other people the same way the coaches at CFCM helped me.

The Kids program at CrossFit Critical Mass is really great because I like seeing kids come in who aren’t sure they can do a specific CrossFit exercise or workout and then leave fired up because they did it. I believe CrossFit is more than a fitness program for our children ~ It gives kids self-confidence and teaches them they are capable of so much more than they ever imagined. As a bonus, they have lots of fun too!
